becoming a DIY bride...

Before Adam and I got engaged, I always new that I would do/make/design a lot of things (with lots of help from Mom and other participants... willing or not) on my own. This has EXPLODED now that I've been doing so much research. I've found so many good websites with DIY (do it yourself) instructions for just about anything that you would want.

Some of my favs:

Road to the Aisle - I love this site. This girl totally had things under control and organized before her wedding. I'm amazed at her artistry-- a skill that I hope I inherited from my mother, but I know that I'll need her expertise along the way. I love her invitation design, and after a couple chats with Mom, I think we're going to tackle it!!

DIY Bride
- the name is pretty self explanatory. This site actually spawned a book (and a second coming out next year...) and has plenty of download-able templates, etc, which can be VERY useful.

Etsy Wedding - this is really just more for inspiration, seeing as there's very little (actually, I haven't seen any) DIY stuff on here. However, I love all the pictures and the classy look of everything submitted.

(If you know of any other great ones, let me know!!)

So here's a list of things that I'm planning to tackle as DIY projects... if Mommy says I can :)
-all things paper, including:
-invitations
-save the dates
-thank you notes
-rehearsal dinner invites
-menus
-programs
-guest book
-place cards
-table numbers
-unity candle
-out of town bags
-aisle runner
-flowers
-bouquets
-boutonnières
-corsages
-centerpieces (okay let's be honest, pretty much any decor)
-table runners for reception
-flower girl baskets
-program baskets
-favors

Believe it or not, I don't think this is a complete list. Am I totally crazy?? Perhaps. But for me it's not just about saving money. I'm a huge geek for stuff like this (and so is Mom!!)
